About Our Church
Our Vision
We want to see God's Kingdom come on earth as it is in Heaven through people accepting Christ as Lord. We want to see repaired relationships and joyful, authentic worship. We want to share Christ's Gospel with everyone who will listen.

We want to be used by our Lord in whatever way He wishes to bring this about.

We invite you to join with us in this endeavor!
Our Values
Worship: A Community of Worshipers
-
Worship is our reason for existence.
-
Authentic Worship produces a heart that will be quick to hear and obey the Holy Spirit.

Discipleship: Disciples Make Disciples
-
Disciples long to become more like Christ, growing in personal holiness.
-
Discipleship is a life-long pursuit of seeking to know God better and making Christ-like choices.
-
An active Disciple is discipling one or more other Disciples.

Evangelism: Our Mission is to "Go and Make Disciples"
-
Evangelism means joining the Father to seek those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.
-
As Disciples worship and grow in their faith, they will come to share the Father's desire to share the Gospel with nonbelievers.

Community Engagement: "Church" happens outside the Building:
-
We are responsible for establishing and maintaining the reputation of Christ in the Village of Ashley.
-
We must love like Christ in order to Engage the Community on His behalf.

A Short History of Ashley Wesleyan Church
What is now Ashley Wesleyan Church began as a revival service and regular Sunday School back in 1938. Its present building was dedicated in 1960. Among the people who have been instrumental in our history are Reverend O. N. Stucky, the original revival preacher and first pastor, Reverend John Hershman, who led the fund-raising for the present building, and Reverend J. R. Walter, who oversaw the purchase of the land and the construction. Mr. and Mrs. P. M. Young were also used by God in the early decades of Ashley Wesleyan Church.

Ashley Wesleyan has had many other pastors and church leaders in the years since its inception. As our history continues to unfold, we seek to be ever more integrally involved in our Village and Community as God sees fit. We welcome you to come and join with us!
